CCS graduates to exhibit and present at MICE expo in Cambridge

MICE, the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo, is coming up on October 19 and 20 in Cambridge, MA. A perennial favorite, MICE is showcase space for artists and writers in the greater-Boston area working in the field of comics. The show is free and open to the public of all ages. And you can find lots of CCS grads and instructors tabling and in various workshops throughout the weekend.

Graduate Spotlight: Jarad Greene ′17

Jarad Greene ’17 just sold his first graphic novel, Scullion! So a big congratulations on your graphic novel debut, Jarad. He is the administrative and development coordinator at The Center for Cartoon Studies. In 2017, he was selected to represent CCS on the judging panel for the Cartoonist Studio Prize, which selected Eleanor Davis for Libby’s Dad (Retrofit and Big Planet Comics) and Christina Tran for “On Beauty.” His mini-comic Memories of a Former Porcelain Doll won a 2017 MICE mini-grant. He recently did the following interview with Angela Boyle ′16.

Shelli Paroline escaped early on into the world of cartoons and science fiction, and from there launched into creating comics. She and her husband Braden Lamb form an Eisner Award-winning art team, collaborating on such series as the Adventure Time comics. they have also illustrated The Midas Flesh (Boom! Box) and Making Scents (First Second).
