Online Workshops FAQ

Q: Are the online workshops are fully virtual?

A: Yes! These workshops will be entirely online, using Zoom as the host platform for classes.

Q: What size are the classes

A: All classes are between 12 and 14 students.

Q: What time will classes be held?

A: Online classes will be held from 11am-5pm Eastern Time.

Q: Is it possible to take the classes asynchronously?

A: Our classes will be held synchronously and will not be recorded. We believe that our workshops are at their best when held in real-time to foster relationships between classmates and instructors, and provide more engaged feedback in lectures, class workshops, and assignments.

Q: Where can I find a supply list?

A: Supply lists for each workshop are included on their respective workshop pages.

Q: How do I prepare for class online?

A: Our guide for Digital Best Practices can be found here, but our general recommendation is to spend some time familiarizing yourself with Zoom and ensuring that you have a stable internet connection. We’ll also be offering an opportunity for a tech test a week prior to the workshop date for those who want a practice run with zoom and to make sure they feel comfortable with their setup.

Q: Why do I need a Google account for class?

A: We use Google Sites to create a landing page for each workshop that includes the zoom link, the course schedule, and daily assignments. Students will also use Google Drive to Upload and Download materials for work and review. If you do not have a Google account, you can set one up by following these steps.

Q: If I live in New England, can I come visit campus during the workshops?

A: Yes, if you are interested in visiting campus during your workshop, please call or email us at info@cartoonstudies.org to make an appointment.

Q: Can I be added to a waitlist?

A: Yes, to be added to a waitlist, email registration@cartoonstudies.org and specify which class you are interested in.
